Mostly to serve as evidence of my versatility and longevity,
here are some samples that don't fall neatly into the other categories.
- An excerpt from a TV pilot I co-wrote and edited for Winter Productions.
- A scene from a screenplay concept I came up with once. Everyone needs
a screenplay getting dusty in a drawer.
- A poem I wrote in college as I learned more about my Jewish heritage.
- A prologue to an academic paper that re-writes the introduction to
Harlan Ellison's The Invisible Man. The paper was an attempt
to enact my reading of the book rather than explain it. I'm not sure
it worked.
- A song I wrote after a bad break-up.
Every writer has to indulge the inner Dylan at some point.
- A sample from an under-appreciated genre, the wedding
toast. Provide your own rim-shots. The names have been changed
to protect the "innocent."
