Proof-reading is ofen over-looked and under-valued. That's
unfortunate, because a single error can undo a lot of the time and money
spent on a stellar design or elegant copy. When it's done right, good
proofing is invisible; the reader sees only clean, clear consistent copy.
When it's done wrong, bad proofing stands out like a drunk heckling musicians
at the symphony.

- In 2005 I did the pre-press proofing for BuilderNews
Magazine, a
regional trade publication for the construction industry.
- I regularly proof Focus
Forward, the client newsletter of Tim
Rosa Associates. I've also proofed a number of documents for TRA clients.
NDAs prevent me from linking to these.
- As associate editor, I did the pre-press proofing for Western Winds,
a consumer newsletter for Western
Mountaineering, an outdoor retailer
and manufacturer.
